World Medical Center’s business involves handling of private personal data. It is natural, therefore, that security is a key issue, both for us and our clients. For all our business security is paramount.

To protect and secure the integrity of our members’ data, we are using market leading security technology, both during communication, production and storing. All personal, medical and pharmaceutical data received in our computer systems is stored and transferred in strongly encrypted formats. All personnel with access to our computers have signed duty of confidentiality affidavits not to disclose, copy or use any of this information for other purposes. The servers are located in secure premises at one of Norway’s leading computer sites, where security is at military level.

No matter how strong the security,  there will always be a risk that any information, whether it is in a written or printed format, or it is stored within a computer system, or it is being communicated, may be subject to misuse or theft. However, we have taken steps to minimize this risk. We adhere strictly to the regulations stated in the Norwegian Personal Data Act, which is recognized as one of the leading standards in the world. As security technology improves we are mandated to upgrade our computer systems accordingly, in line with all new regulations.

For security reasons we will not disclose our security means in detail.

Whilst we have taken all steps necessary to provide security for our members, it is their responsibility to ensure they take steps to maintain the confidentiality of their passwords and keep any physical information, such as the World Medical Card, as safe as is reasonably possible. It is also the members’ duty to ascertain that all information they enter into our system is correct, true and updated. It will not be verified nor modified by us, but the medical and pharmaceutical data will be coded according to international coding standards. It is therefore each member’s responsibility to ascertain that the information received from WMC is correct, true and complete.
