How secure is my information?

Privacy is paramount. Please see our link marked PRIVACY on the top right of your screen. We use dedicated servers stored in locked and secured areas and SSL encryption when transmitting any medical data. The information is not stored on a website but is transmitted to your webpage whenever you log in.
The World Medical Card is sealed. It will only carry your key medical information and emergency contacts. It is your responsibility to keep the card safe.The onMobile version is protected by a pin number of your choice. You should not share this pin number with anyone.



How is the information in the card updated?

Since the information is physically stored in the card, a new card has to be produced to update the personal or medical information. The same applies to onMobile, where the information has to be downloaded again. To update your card use the member login on our web pages to log in to you online profile, onWeb, make the necessary updates, and order new card.



How can I add diseases or medications that are not in the drop-down menus?

You can easily print a form and consult your doctor for your diagnose or medication and then send the form to your nearest World Medical Center. We will add the information for you and print a new card.



Who is responsible for making sure the medical information is updated?

The card holder is personally responsible to keep contents updated. If your medical situation changes, you should contact your doctor or the World Medical Center in order to issue you a new card. The cardholder will be reminded to renew the information when the card is about to expire. (Expiration: 2 years)



How long does it take to get a World Medical Card?

Your health record is ready and available via onMobile and onWeb immediately after the registration is completed. It takes approximately 2 weeks from when your order is registered into our system until you receive the card by mail.



Is the card sensitive for rough handling or water?

The card is very durable, it can be folded, scratched and even withstands water. It is also magnetic and dust resistant.



How can medical personnel read the information?

The information is instantly available to medical personal by manually cutting the card open. OnMobile can be read after the PIN-code has been entered.



Can the information be read by non-English speaking personnel?

The information in the World Medical Card uses the international coding system issued by WHO (World Health Organization), ICD-10 for diagnosis and ATC for medication. Medical personnel all over the world can read this information. With the OnMobile, you can choose in which language you want the information displayed however, the coding will remain uniform.



Will medical personnel find my World Medical Card?

The first thing that medical personnel do in an emergency situation after securing respiration and pulse, is to search for ID documents and other information (like World Medical Card). We always recommend that you keep your World Medical Card with your other ID documents. In addition, World Medical Center actively market the World Medical Card on a global level to increase awareness and knowledge of the card"s necessity to all individuals.



I am healthy, why should I order a World Medical Card?

If you are unconscious, the World Medical Card informs the medical personnel that you are in fact healthy, and that treatment can start without any delay. Other information that you can register in the card, such as; emergency contacts, family members, physicians, is important information when you are unconscious or under great stress, during any emergency situation.
